Artist Bio
Born and raised in British Columbia, Madeleine Boisclair-Joly is an artist who takes inspiration from the natural environment around her. Currently planted on Canada’s East Coast she will graduate with a BFA, major in Fine Art, in 2024 from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, in Halifax. Her practice as a maker involves painting, printmaking, ceramics and drawn works on paper. Madeleine’s work repeatedly draws off of botanical themes, landscapes from her youth (such as the British Columbian rain forests) and other plant life, like her portraits of Haligonian trees in a series on Rootedness.
